Jonas Brothers Site Cited for Violating Children's Privacy

The Jonas Brothers‘ fan web site wrongly collected the names and cell phone numbers of kids under the age of 13 without their parents’ consent, according to an industry watchdog.

The band’s site thus potentially violated a federal law which prevents web sites from collecting info about kids.

The site, JonasBrothersFanClub.com, tipped off kids to enter a fake age so that they did not need their parents permission to begin receiving spam from the band, according to the Children’s Advertising Review Unit.

After an exam by CARU the web site — run by Ultrastar Entertainment – has promised to alter its policies so that parental consent is required by users under the age of 13 when they download stuff from the boy band that evolved from 1980s hair metal combo Property of the Queen.

Jonas Brothers' New Series 'J.O.N.A.S!' Given Premiere Date

Disney Channel have finally found a time slot for the premiere of "J.O.N.A.S!". The new original series by the mouse house has been given a new promo that reveals it debuting on May 2 at 8/7c. "We're brothers. We're a band. And now we're a show," the Jonas Brothers said.

The synopsis for the series is read: "The Jonas Brothers seem to be your typical teen rock band hoping to make it to the big time. They travel the country in their rickety tour bus, performing shows, selling homemade CDs and meeting fans. What a life!"

"What the fans don't know is that the Jonas Brothers are actually J.O.N.A.S. - Junior Operatives Networking as Spies - who, along with their secret agent dad, are under assignment from a super-secret government agency out to thwart evil - usually in the guise of Dr. Harvey Fleischman, a diabolical dentist out to take over the world's young adults."

"However, thwarting evil and saving the world can be difficult when you're also going to high school, keeping their secret identity from Mom, and being stalked by Stella Malone, a teenage reporter working undercover who's trying to get the behind-the-scenes scoop on your up-and-coming band."

Apart from the brothers, Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas, the series is also starring Chelsea Staub, Frankie Jonas and Davida Williams.

Jonas Brothers' fourth album due June 15

By Gary Graff

AUSTIN, Texas (Billboard) - The Jonas Brothers are nearing completion of their fourth album, due out June 15, which the trio says will take the band in new sonic directions.

"This album is taking steps," Nick Jonas told Billboard.com during a teleconference with reporters on Wednesday. "We're trying to learn as much as we can, continuing to grow."

Kevin Jonas said, "The overall message is it's the same old Jonas Brothers, in a sense," but he noted that the group would be adding more instrumentation, including horns and strings "to add and build to the sound we already have."

Nick said the songs on the new album -- whose title the brothers are not yet revealing -- are "our journal in songs," mostly about "all things we've gone through, personal experiences we get inspiration from." But citing the continuing influence of Elvis Costello, he added that "we've also been working on trying to use metaphors ... to kind of mask a literal thing that happens to us."

Other inspirations the trio cited for the new album include the Zutons, Kings of Leon and Neil Diamond.

Nick said the group already has recorded nine songs with "a few more to go." John Fields is again producing the album, which was recorded concurrently with the filming of the trio's new "J.O.N.A.S." action/adventure/comedy series, which will debut in May on the Disney Channel. Several songs from the album will be featured in the show as well.

The Jonases are also gearing up for their first world tour, which begins June 20. The show will be performed in the round on a 144-foot-wide stage that incorporates a large circular water screen.

"We wanted to find a way to provide a bigger and better show to our fans," Joe Jonas said. "The entire bottom half of the arena and the upper desk is essentially a front-row ticket."

Jonas Brothers Tickets Giveaways

Free Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009 Ticket Giveaways, Meet and Greet, and Backstage Passes

The Jonas Brothers are set to begin their World Tour 2009 soon, and fans are set to line up the ticket sales counters. Now a new website posts free Jonas Brothers ticket giveaways, backstage passes, and meet and greet passes for fans.

The Jonas Brothers concert tickets regularly become sold out within minutes of going on sale, so thousands of people are flocking to the Fan Club website to join. The Fan Club, known as Team Jonas, membership allows members to purchase tickets for the Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009 early, while the general public has to wait longer. But many Fan
Club members were complaining that the seats were less-than-desired for the Burning Up Tour. Fans are wondering if the Fan Club only has blocks that are not the best seats in the house, and the best seats are saved for higher paying Ticket Agency customers.

Either way, one can only expect similar frustration and ticket scalping problems that seems to be the norm in these crazed scrambles to get tickets for these tween and teen Disney Channel idols.

If you've somehow escaped their spell the brothers Jonas are a pop-culture phenomenon that the Washington Post calls a "youthquake."

The rocking Jonas Brothers - which features 16-year-old Nick, 19-year-old Joe and 21-year-old Kevin — just didn't jump into the tween radar without a little help. The trio owes a lot to another popular favorite: Miley Cyrus, a.k.a. "Hannah Montana." The hot Disney star featured the well-dressed brunette boy band on her TV program, as the opening act on her concert tour, and on the big screen as part of her red-hot 3D concert film.

As a result, the brothers' pin-up popularity skyrocketed, as young girls across the country fell for their boyish good looks combined with talent and a pop-rock sound.

They have a new album entitled “Lines, Vines and Trying Times” coming out June 15, a sizzling hot World Tour, and a new Disney Channel series called J.O.N.A.S! that will begin airing in May. Not to mention Camp Rock 2 which will begin filming at the conclusion of the upcoming tour.

There has been substantial criticism in the media regarding the box office take for the Jonas Brothers 3D movie, however it remains the number two concert film of all time (Miley Cyrus holds the title).

It does indeed seem that Jonas Brothers World Domination continues!

Jonas Brothers - 2009 Kids’ Choice Awards

Nick, Kevin and Joe of the Jonas Brothers, pose for photographers at the 2009 Kids’ Choice Awards, held at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion on Saturday night (March 28) in Westwood, Calif.

The terrific trio took over Radio Disney on Friday afternoon as they put on an acoustic performance!

About their upcoming tour, they said, “We’ve got new songs, new production elements and new instruments as well. In this new record, we tried to add some different sounds. We’ve been working a lot with horns. After we did the Grammy performance with Stevie Wonder, we had the five horn players behind us. We were like, ‘We should do this to our music and add this different sound to it.’ We incorporated it in our record and we’ll be playing with them this summer!”

Jonas Brother tickets on sale Saturday

By Laura Mcdonald

Get ready Denver, The Jonas Brothers are coming to town. Set to play the Pepsi Center on Wednesday, June 24, tickets for their "Burnin' Up" summer tour go on sale through Ticketmaster this Saturday, March 28 at 10:00am. So get on your computers or pull out those cell phones and get ready to purchase some tickets!

The wildly popular pop-rock trio- Kevin (21), Joe (19), and Nick (17)- have experienced worldwide success in the past couple of years. Officially becoming a band in 2005, they spent over a year on the road, touring with big names acts like Kelly Clarkson, Jesse McCartney, the Backstreet Boys, the Click Five, Aly & AJ, The Cheetah Girls, and even opened for The Veronicas. Their first single, "Mandy", debuted on MTV's Total Request Live and eventually made it to number 4 in the top 10 countdown.

But what really skyrocketed the New Jersey boys to success, was a guest appearance on the Disney Channel hit show "Hannah Montana" in August 2007. Viewership was high that night (the episode aired right after "High School Musical 2") and the world fell in love with the Jonas Brothers. They then filmed their own reality show, "Jonas Brothers- Living The Dream" and then starred in a Disney Channel Original movie, "Camp Rock", which aired in the summer of 2008. In February of 2009, the "Jonas Brothers- 3D Concert Experience" hit IMAX theaters in the USA, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

What few people realize, however, is that the lovable boys have been playing music long before they became a global sensation. Nick Jonas began appearing on Broadway at the age of 7, scoring roles in shows such as "Les Miserable" and "Beauty and the Beast". Nick gave up the theater to form the band with his brothers, who were signed to Columbia Records in 2005 but were dropped in 2007. It didn't take long for Hollywood Records to realize their potential and pick up them up however.

With striking good looks, endearing boyish charm, oh and platinum and gold selling records, it's not surprising The Jonas Brothers have won the hearts of pre-teen and teenage girls everywhere. Channeling hysteria among fans similar to that of Beatlemania, the Jo Bros have sold out concerts all over the world. Their show at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles sold out faster than anything in the venue's history. In addition, they sold out three shows at New York's famous Madison Square Garden, which seats 17,000 people.

After the 50 date "Burnin' Up" North American tour, the Jonas Brothers are releasing a brand new album, "Lines, Vines, and Trying Times" and are scheduled to star in their own comedy series, "J.O.N.A.S", on the Disney Channel this fall. Things just seem to keep getting better and better for the down-to-earth boys. If you can score tickets to the Denver date, you might see me there rocking out with the young brothers. Hey, someone has to take my 8-year-old niece to see her heartthrobs; might as well be me!
