Get ready Denver, The Jonas Brothers are coming to town. Set to play the Pepsi Center on Wednesday, June 24, tickets for their "Burnin' Up" summer tour go on sale through Ticketmaster this Saturday, March 28 at 10:00am. So get on your computers or pull out those cell phones and get ready to purchase some tickets!
The wildly popular pop-rock trio- Kevin (21), Joe (19), and Nick (17)- have experienced worldwide success in the past couple of years. Officially becoming a band in 2005, they spent over a year on the road, touring with big names acts like Kelly Clarkson, Jesse McCartney, the Backstreet Boys, the Click Five, Aly & AJ, The Cheetah Girls, and even opened for The Veronicas. Their first single, "Mandy", debuted on MTV's Total Request Live and eventually made it to number 4 in the top 10 countdown.
But what really skyrocketed the New Jersey boys to success, was a guest appearance on the Disney Channel hit show "Hannah Montana" in August 2007. Viewership was high that night (the episode aired right after "High School Musical 2") and the world fell in love with the Jonas Brothers. They then filmed their own reality show, "Jonas Brothers- Living The Dream" and then starred in a Disney Channel Original movie, "Camp Rock", which aired in the summer of 2008. In February of 2009, the "Jonas Brothers- 3D Concert Experience" hit IMAX theaters in the USA, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
What few people realize, however, is that the lovable boys have been playing music long before they became a global sensation. Nick Jonas began appearing on Broadway at the age of 7, scoring roles in shows such as "Les Miserable" and "Beauty and the Beast". Nick gave up the theater to form the band with his brothers, who were signed to Columbia Records in 2005 but were dropped in 2007. It didn't take long for Hollywood Records to realize their potential and pick up them up however.
With striking good looks, endearing boyish charm, oh and platinum and gold selling records, it's not surprising The Jonas Brothers have won the hearts of pre-teen and teenage girls everywhere. Channeling hysteria among fans similar to that of Beatlemania, the Jo Bros have sold out concerts all over the world. Their show at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles sold out faster than anything in the venue's history. In addition, they sold out three shows at New York's famous Madison Square Garden, which seats 17,000 people.
After the 50 date "Burnin' Up" North American tour, the Jonas Brothers are releasing a brand new album, "Lines, Vines, and Trying Times" and are scheduled to star in their own comedy series, "J.O.N.A.S", on the Disney Channel this fall. Things just seem to keep getting better and better for the down-to-earth boys. If you can score tickets to the Denver date, you might see me there rocking out with the young brothers. Hey, someone has to take my 8-year-old niece to see her heartthrobs; might as well be me!
